Estrella Galicia, the iconic beer brand, takes part in the 8th edition of the prestigious and global The Best Chef Awards, which will bring together the world’s most renowned and passionate chefs.

A Coruña, October 30th., 2024. Estrella Galicia, the iconic Galician brewery, is proud to announce its debut at the 8th edition of the prestigious global gastronomic event, The Best Chef Awards, to be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from November 4 to 6, 2024. On this occasion, the brand will present the Terroir Special Award for the first time, recognizing a chef who has demonstrated exemplary commitment to sustainability, the use of local products, and respect for their community.

Thus, Estrella Galicia beer will be part of The Best Chef Awards, which promises to be the largest edition in the history of the event. It will serve as a stage for high-impact events, bringing together the most respected key actors in global gastronomy along with emerging local talent. This true celebration of the very best gastronomy worldwide brings together chefs, experts, and enthusiasts to celebrate and shape the future of culinary innovation and takes place in a different city each year.

The 2024 edition will offer three days of activities under the concept: The (R)evolution of the Future of Food. The first conference, Area Talks, will allow industry leaders to discuss the latest trends and challenges, while Food Meets Science will showcase the intersection of innovation and tradition. The event will culminate on November 6 with the prestigious The Best Chef Awards Gala held at Atlantis, The Palm, where Estrella Galicia will present the Terroir Special Award and the culinary contributions of the most voted chefs in the world will be recognized, with rankings from one to three knives, up to the top three names on the list.

The Best Chef Awards 2024 will not only attract renowned chefs such as Albert Adrià (Enigma) and Ángel León (Estrella Galicia ambassador and chef of Aponiente), Vaughan Mabee (Amisfield), but will also spotlight emerging regional talents like Wassim Orfali and Christophe Devoille in pastry, along with Tetsuya Wakuda from Sagetsu and Rita Sueidan from Maisan15. Other Estrella Galicia ambassadors from Spain, such as Javier Olleros, Begoña Rodrigo, and Pepe Solla, will also be present, underscoring the brand’s commitment to culinary excellence. The event will gather over 800 gastronomy professionals, including high-level chefs, hospitality leaders, and journalists from around the world.

Mónica Vizcaíno, Global Strategic Marketing Director of Estrella Galicia, commented on this historic participation: “As part of our international expansion, having a prestigious and strategic partner like The Best Chef Awards, recognized by top chefs worldwide, is a key factor in connecting our brand to globally relevant gastronomy. Estrella Galicia and The Best Chef Awards share values, passions, and territories where our beers intersect with the culinary world, and we couldn’t have found a better ally in this new global venture for us.”

Cristian Gadau, Director and Founder of The Best Chef Awards, also spoke about this collaboration: “The Terroir Awards are the heart of our project, as they honor the chef most actively engaged and connected with local producers and the community. A chef who is working to preserve the identity of their area, preserving traditions, culture, and history in defense of biodiversity. A chef constantly in touch with local farmers, teaching new techniques and approaches that help small producers become more sustainable, contributing to a circular economy, and increasing social inclusion for a better planet. And we believe that a partner like Estrella Galicia, joining our major gastronomic celebration for the first time, is completely aligned with these values.”

This collaboration strengthens Estrella Galicia’s commitment to positive impact, as demonstrated by its recent membership in the B Corp movement, a milestone achieved in January 2024. The brewery is a strong advocate of this global movement, which requires meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and corporate responsibility.

By joining one of the most anticipated and prestigious celebrations in the culinary world for the first time, Estrella Galicia reinforces its presence on the global gastronomic scene, aligning its beers with a profound passion and love for cuisine and with the values of excellence promoted by The Best Chef Awards. Through the Terroir Special Award, Estrella Galicia pays tribute to all chefs who work proudly and devotedly for their region, striving to create a positive impact in their communities and a respectful approach to the environment.
